Dr McGregor completed his Medical Degree with first class honours from the University of Queensland. Following this he completed and was awarded a PhD from Monash University. He completed his advanced surgical training at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital and at various hospitals around the state
As well as many broad general surgery terms, he completed subspecialty training terms in paediatric, vascular, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, bariatric, breast, endocrine and colorectal surgery. He also trained in colonoscopy and upper endoscopy and is certified in both by the Gastrointestinal Society of Australia
Dr McGregor is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in General Surgery. He is a member of the Breast Section of the RACS, General Surgeons Australia and sits on the Qld Regional Board of General Surgery. He is the Director of Surgical Training at Redcliffe Hospital and is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Surgery at The University of Queensland. He is a busy dad with 4 young children.
He thoroughly enjoys the challenges and variety of being a General Surgeon. He has particular interest in advanced laparascopic surgery, including hernia surgery, gallbladder surgery & bowel resection. His other main focus and interest is caring for ladies with breast cancer.
