Dr John Wong

Dr Wong is a general gastroenterologist with an interest in high quality colonoscopy and endoscopic mucosal resection of large polyps.

He graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with honours in 2010. After completing basic physician training in Perth, he went on to advanced training in gastroenterology at Lismore Base Hospital, Port Macquarie Base Hospital, and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in NSW. He then completed a year of advanced training at QEII Jubilee Hospital focussing on high quality colonoscopy, techniques to improve adenoma detection rate, advanced endoscopic techniques for polyp resection, as well as capsule endoscopy.

In 2018 Dr Wong was awarded his fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Dr Wong is committed in continuing medical education and is an associate lecturer at University of Queensland, and is involved in clinical teaching at QEII. He is able to provide gastroscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy as well as iron infusions.

He is committed in supporting his patients through their journey and is available for procedure and consulting lists at Westside Private Hospital.
